THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Martin Wine Cellar Deli Restaurant Review:

Finding a respectable bagel and edible lox can be daunting in this Creole-obsessed town. While this no-nonsense Uptown deli, in a corner of a wine shop, isn't likely to bedazzle a Brooklynite, it'll certainly do in a pinch. A huge array of sandwiches beckons, too---everything from well-executed corned beef to a classic club. Breads, cheeses and cold cuts are of good quality and the daily soup, salad and entrée specials have catapulted into a league that makes them competitive with the finest lunch options in town. You might find a luscious coq au vin, Louisiana satsuma-glazed Cornish hens, or a pan-fried ruby red trout filet set atop mixed greens with a sprightly mango salsa. There's always a sturdy bowl of Marcella's red beans and rice on Monday, and Aunt Elsie's seafood and okra gumbo on Friday. You may uncork any bottle of wine from the adjoining store, or order a glass for less than $4.
