Mastro's Ocean Club Fish House, Scottsdale, AZ

Mastro's Ocean Club Fish House Restaurant Review

: Mastro's Ocean Club boasts locations around the country, including this Scottsdale venue. Since this Mastro's outpost features seafood rather than steaks, most guests start with the three-tiered silver platter brimming with your choice of cold foods from the sea, such as crab claws, oysters, lobster, mussels and ahi. The spicy mambo salad, a variation of a Caesar salad, is emboldened by horseradish and wasabi. The menu also features steaks and à la carte sides such as lobster mashed potatoes that deliver lobster in every bite, or gnocchi with Alaskan king crab, rich Asiago cream sauce, black truffle shavings and white truffle oil. Finish with Mastro’s signature dessert: warm butter cake, caramelized on top, paired with ice cream and a large bowl of whipped cream.

Mastro's Ocean Club, Kierland Commons, Scottsdale, Arizona

My husband's 55th birthday celebration was held last night at Mastro's Ocean Club, Scottsdale. There were five in our party, one of whom is a director of events at one of Scottsdale's premier eateries, and anxious to compare Ocean's fare with her restaurant.
Ocean Club is known for their ambiance and service and they did not disappoint. From the minute we arrive we were treated with the utmost in service, as the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We were seated in the bar which was full of hungry clients, bustling staff attending to every small detail and piano music wafting over the entire scene. The vibe reminded me of San Francisco in it's elegance.
We settled on Grgich Hill Chardonnay and perused the menu.
Our table ordered several dishes from the menu to share.
Chilled King Crab Legs, Sauteed Shrimp, Sauteed Sugar Snap Peas, and Cauliflower Au Gratin for starters and sides. Bone-In Ribeye and Chilean Sea Bass for entree's. As each dish was presented one after another we all but licked the plates. The Sauteed Shrimp was amazing, and the sauce was fabulous and decadent. The ribeye and sea bass too were delicious and perfectly prepared. This is definetely the place to see and be seen with the happening bar area and/or a small intimate table in the back. We're lucky that we live around the corner from Ocean and will be frequent diners in the future. This is not just a steak house! Out-of-towner's don't miss this one! Oh, by the way, our Dir. of Events guest was very impressed! I can't get that gorgeous smell of sauteed shrimp and ribeye out of my nostrils! Can't wait to go again!!
