Matsu Sushi Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant & décor: Graciously understated but always busy, Matsu Sushi offers elegantly presented, fresh sushi and sashimi, along with a full menu of Japanese selections. Photos on the wall attest to the popularity of the restaurant as guests are acknowledged for their patronage and pay back the attention with compliments to the chef. Reservations are seldom necessary as the turnover is fairly quick.
Likes: Deliciously fresh sushi all day.
Dislikes: Can get very busy at lunchtime due to proximity near medical centers.
Food & Drinks: Sushi chefs greet you with big smiles and tell you what’s freshest for the day. Unusual choices like Kumamoto oysters and uni presented in a cucumber cup sell out quickly. The large soft shrimp is served traditionally with the head presented alongside, cooked for a crispy one-bite indulgence. Other dishes like ramen, negimaki, and a selection of bento box configurations are offered. Quality sakés by the bottle and glass include unfiltered as well as filtered versions.
