THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Maurice Restaurant Review:
Maurices menu walks the line between American comfort food and eastern Mediterranean-inspired California cuisine. Tangy goat cheese quesadillas, spike with zahtar (a sesame and oregano spice mix) and salads showered with slivered dates, orange slices and sugared walnuts share menu space with meatloaf and mashed potatoes and Parmesan-cloaked penne pasta. Starters like lamb skewers with figs or the artichoke hearts fair better than the less adventurous entrées. Inside the earth-toned room quiet couples sit beside louder, larger groups in harmony. It could be Mauricess wallet-friendly prices and relaxed, unassuming atmosphere that keep the neighborhood guests happy. Reservations arent usually required, but if there is a wait, sink down into the comfortable couches in the lounge area near the bar.
