McCabe's Irish Pub & Grill Restaurant Review:
Despite its Irish theme, this venue is well-located---right on trendy Fifth Avenue---so it's not to be too quickly dismissed. Traditional Irish fare includes a thick and filling Irish stew, shepherd's pie, Angus beef and grilled seafood. One of the nice appetizers is the garlic fries (large potato wedges sautéed with fresh herbs and sprinkled with malt vinegar). Salads include a McGillicuddy Cobb and, more creatively, a Mandarin strawberry salad of fresh berries and Mandarin oranges on a bed of lettuce drizzled with raspberry vinaigrette and accompanied by strawberry yogurt. Also offered are standards like corned beef and cabbage and a handful of pastas. The beers and ales, naturally, are very pub-worthy.
