The McCharles House Restaurant & Gardens Restaurant Review

: Ready for conversation over a spot of fine tea? Then visit this quaint and charming Victorian house. Owner and artist Audrey Heredia curates a warm, inviting atmosphere, while daughter Vivian uses family recipes to whip up traditional English comfort food that works well with afternoon tea. So, order the shepherd's pie or stuffed cabbage and, on a sunny day, sit on the outside patio under towering eucalyptus trees. Or consider indulging in assorted tea sandwiches, scones with cream and preserves, Edwardian cheese, artichoke salad, seasonal fruits and tea time confections. The restaurant’s theme for what they call their "Someday Get-Togethers" evolves almost monthly to reflect upcoming holidays or seasonal transitions. Reservations are required, and the dates and times that the venue is open changes from month to month, so checking the schedule is an essential part of the process.
