| With its forest green rugs, upfront raw bar and Art Deco light fixtures, McCormick & Schmick’s ambience is an idealized vision of an old-fashioned fish house. Its food, however, is genuinely satisfying. Printed twice daily, the menu features the freshest selection of seafood available in Northern New Jersey. Selections include local favorites such as Cape May sea scallops and Maine lobster as well as fresh selections from around the country, including Alaskan king salmon, Florida yellowfin tuna and Northwestern oysters, all flown in daily. In addition, there are tempting pasta, poultry and beef specialties. Preparations range from traditional American to international. There’s something for everyone and just about everyone comes: singles and families, seniors, dating couples. The bar is a friendly place offering quality cocktails and a wide range of beers. Service is congenial, casual and efficient. The wine list, designed to accompany seafood, is heavy on nice crisp whites. |
