| Of the four McCormick & Schmick’s restaurants in greater Seattle, this location is the only one with panoramic water and city views. The San Francisco-style fish house and bar occupies two floors in an office building with floor to ceiling window views on the southwest shore of Lake Union. The seafood-focused menu offers a range of options, but it's best to order something simple, such as steamed shellfish from the fresh sheet or one of the house specialties. Good bets include oysters breaded and pan-fried for dipping in a tangy tartar sauce, petrale sole lightly cloaked in Parmesan, or fettuccine in a garlic cream sauce brimming with rock shrimp and bay scallops. The wine list is mostly domestic with several offerings available by the glass. Hot fruit cobbler is the best item on the dessert menu. Happy hour is a big draw, especially during the summer, when crowds pack the downstairs bar and patio. |
