| The West Village outpost of The Meatball Shop on the Lower East Side has proved to be just as much of a pull among eaters seeking comfort in spherical meat goodness. The menu is no different from the original, which is just fine, as the meatballs that are churned out here are topnotch. Diners mix and match the meatballs with a sauce: spicy pork with pesto goes well as a slider, as does beef with tomato sauce. If the lamb meatball (infused with walnuts and raisins) is on the menu, get it --- taste- and texture-wise, it’s a winner. Wine comes by the glass, bottle and carafe and craft beer is served on tap. |
