Mellow Mushroom Restaurant Review: Known locally as "The 'Shroom," this Atlanta pizza institution literally mushroomed across the metro area and the region. Pizza dough is made with whole-grain flour and spring water and has no added sugar. Vegetarians and vegans will find items to enjoy, such as tofu and tempeh hoagies, plus loads of salads. Appetizers like bruschetta make good small meals. The Gourmet White pizza with sun-dried and fresh tomatoes remains our favorite. Sandwiches are constructed with whole-grain breads and fine greens. Pizza slices may be ordered during lunch Monday-Thursday, and the limited amount available is usually gone by 2 p.m. A nice list of draught beers and decent wines is available. Other locations.
