THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Melody Inn Restaurant Review: The Melody Inn is quite a landmark in Coral Gables, not in the least for having served President Nixon. Chef Hans Burri, who honed his skills in Switzerland, prides himself on his veal creations like veal Emince Zürich (thinly sliced veal in white wine-mushroom cream sauce and Swiss rösti potatoes), veal escalope Morilles with morel mushrooms in fine Champagne sauce, and an authentic wienerschnitzel, which is a breaded veal cutlet, pan-fried in butter and served with Swiss spätzle. If you don't like veal, select from a multitude of other options such as steak au poivre Madagascar with three peppercorn-Cognac charolais sauce and parsley potatoes; pan-seared salmon medallion basilic with a basil-Champagne sauce; chateaubriand bouquetière; rack of lamb persillé or mahi mahi trapanese baked with almonds, olives, tomato pesto, herbed crumbs and lemon butter. You also have the choice of a prix-fixe menu. Sit back, relax amid the romantic, old-world-charm and treat yourself to a rich dessert like crêpes Suzette flambéed with orange liqueur, chocolate fondue, tiramisu or bread pudding with rum sauce.
