Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza Restaurant Review:

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza opened in Fort Lauderdale in 2002 and has since spread like wildfire to numerous other locations. New York natives often rave about the pizza they grew up on, not the soggy slices sold on every corner in NYC but the pies produced by the city's historic Italian immigrant pizza joints with the thin and crisp burn-blistered crusts that can only come from the ultra-high heat of a coal oven. At this original Anthony's, Brooklyn transplant Anthony Bruno introduced the pies of his childhood, and as you'll taste for yourself, the result is quite different from slower-cooked wood-oven pizza. Try a specialty pie, like sausage and garlic-sautéed broccoli rabe, or concoct your own based on Anthony's basic pizza with quality mozzarella and imported Italian tomatoes. Other menu items are limited to coal oven wings, sandwiches on toasted focaccia and several salads, plus one dessert: forgettable New York cheesecake.
