Buca di Beppo Restaurant Review:

Buca has its fans --- diners who like generous portions to share (or take home) at this friendly Southern Italian eatery (Buca di Beppo loosely translates as Joe's Basement). Traipse through the kitchen to your table in one of the cozy dining rooms, where the walls and every available space are covered in Italian photos and memorabilia, from kitschy ceramic statues to photos of Frank Sinatra and Sophia Loren. Everything is served family-size, but diners also have a choice of small (which serves two or more) and large (designed for four or more). The menu is on the wall, and though most large entrées are in the $30 range, you can put together an inexpensive meal for four with just one appetizer, one salad and an entrée. Start with the shrimp fonduta or fried shrimp and calamari and a chopped antipasto salad. Entrée favorites include chicken limone with capers and the linguine frutti di mare with mussels, calamari and spicy red clam sauce. Other tasty main dishes include Chianti-braised short ribs, fettuccine Alfredo and baked rigatoni. Wine is exclusively Italian; for dessert, the Dolce Platter has tastes of four finales (including tiramisu) for sharing. Mangia!
