Cadieux Cafe Restaurant Review:

Once a speakeasy during Prohibition, Cadieux Cafe is one boxy room with long tables easily set for groups of 16 to 20. Featured is an old-fashioned back-bar that gives it the look of what it is, a neighborhood place, though its Belgian flavor and friendly atmosphere manage to draw people from a wider radius. Menu options include steamed mussels, Flemish rabbit braised in red wine (served only on Sundays), Belgian beer stew, and beer-braised chicken, tender chicken breasts in a Witkap Pater, leeks and mushrooms sauce. American sandwiches, burgers and fish 'n' chips round out the menu. Diners have a selection of around 20 Belgian beers, including Lindemans Pêche Lambic, and artisan brews from Michigan and across the country to wash it all down. An additional draw is the Belgian feather bowling in an area paralleling the dining room. Patrons try to get their five-pound wheels (balls) as close as possible to the white feather at the end of the lane, while opponents attempt to knock them out of the way. Check out the weekly specials like Mussels Madness on Tuesdays. Live music and karaoke on Wednesdays.
