Golf and good food aren't often associated with each other, but you'll find both at The Club Restaurant in San Rafael's McInnis Park Golf Center. The menu features seven pasta dishes, from primavera to carbonara, colorful meal-size salads generously topped with chicken or salmon, and daily specials that include meatloaf, pot roast and smoked pork chops. For a starter, coconut shrimp, made in-house, and bruschetta with a whole roasted garlic bulb are must-try. If lamb shank with polenta is on the menu, go for it --- it's a great value. Portions are generous. There’s a fun bar scene at night. In season, dine on one of Marin’s most extensive outdoor patios with the added pleasure of a sun screen that shades all tables --- and keeps away errant golf balls.
