Coop's Place Restaurant Review:

When fine dining is not on your agenda, but enjoying consistently well-prepared local cuisine is, Coop’s might be your spot. This quintessential French Quarter beer joint has a reputation that does not rest on formality. Here you can let loose with your friends and eat big overstuffed po’ boys. Scarf down a plate of some of the best jambalaya (made with rabbit meat) in town, which comes in three portion sizes, as does the rich, hearty seafood gumbo. Groups might consider starting with the generously portioned platter of fried shrimp, crawfish, oyster and crab claws. And save room for Cajun fried chicken. If your taste leans toward spicy pasta dishes, try the crawfish and tasso pasta with hot, hot, hot Alfredo sauce. A few wines are offered, but nothing fancy. Dessert is not available. Because Coop’s has video poker, only patrons over 21 years of age may enter.
