Cowboy Food & Drink Restaurant Review:
At this all-American homage to the Old West, you'll find a polished concrete floor, corrugated-tin faux porch roofs and strings of Christmas lights --- not to mention fine bourbons and plenty of craft brews. Food is likewise distinctly un-fancy, but, depending on your feelings about barbecue, is first-rate in its own right. Everything is rubbed with a secret spice blend and slow-smoked for up to 15 hours in a Southern Pride smoker using local hardwoods. Whether it's served between two giant sandwich rolls or falling off a slab of bones, the taste is well worth the effort. Desserts are cake-heavy; we like the apple cobbler complemented by a simple vanilla bean ice cream. The wine and beer lists are short, but solid. During fine weather, Cowboy’s patio gets rockin' with its own bar and a dedicated clientele; the indoor bar features live bands and trivia.
