The neighborhood near the Port Authority Bus Terminal isn't the best, and at first glance through the dusty window, you might pass on exploring further. If you do, you’ll miss a lot. Donuts, pies and waffles are all noteworthy, but the main attraction for New Yorkers is the cupcakes. The buttercream frosting is dense and tasty atop moist cakes of vanilla, chocolate, “Bohemian” (walnut with maple icing) and mocha. Dainty handmade flowers gracing even the mini-cupcakes blossom with bright colors. Cakes are also available and rival those at New York's best bakeries.
