We like the bird's-eye view from this chic hotel restaurant, with its giant glass windows framing coastal La Jolla and the big blue. The Mediterranean cuisine is complemented by clever cocktails that make the daily happy hour the place to be at sunset. "Remember the Mayans" is a spirited medley of Herradura tequila and Cynar, slightly tamed with ginger syrup, fresh lime, sriracha, cilantro and cucumber. Start with the toasted quinoa with velvety yellowtail, dressed up with curry cream, followed by mussels bathed in white wine with nuggets of garlic and Spanish chorizo. In addition to the Moroccan-spiced king salmon, we recommend the pork ragoût with house-made pappardelle. Rustic flatbreads or daily ceviche appeal to those opting for a lighter meal. Finish with caramel panna cotta or after-dinner alchemy like the "Don't Be Cruel," made with Zacapa rum, caramel, crème de banana, chocolate bitters, whole egg and nutmeg.
