Death & Co. Restaurant Review:

Death & Co. sounds like how drinkers feel the morning after too much tipple, but it’s old slang from the Prohibition era describing a speakeasy. That’s the vibe the co-owners hope to replicate, from the mysterious wood-paneled exterior to a coffin-esque interior steeped in deep blacks and silvers. Cocktails are the star attraction, pricey but clever and potent in composition. Even the names are fun, like Howlin’ at the Moon (Barrel-Aged Bols Genever and crème de cacao), Heart Shaped Box (Hine H Cognac, St. Germain, cinnamon bark syrup), and Broken Oath (Sombra Mezcal and Lustau Amontillado Sherry). Chef Jacques Godin’s menu complements the diverse libations with dishes like crispy pork belly in hot apple butter, bacon mac 'n' cheese, and seared filet mignon.
