El Asador Restaurant Review:

With a look at the menu, you might think you're perusing the standard Mexican dishes Southern Californians have grown to love. But that will teach you to take an enchilada for granted. These distinctly Nicaraguan enchiladas may be filled with seasoned rice and meat, but they’re given a Central American spin by being coated with egg and then deep-fried. Meat-centric highlights include salpicón (heavily seasoned diced beef with onion and bell pepper) as well as baho (slow-steamed veal served with yucca and plantains). A significant portion of the offerings are devoted to sea creatures, including lobster in garlic-butter or white wine sauces, in addition to deep-fried whole fish. Dessert options like flan and rice pudding are also on order.
