El Criollo Restaurant Review:

An authentic Cuban feast at El Criollo might begin with croquetas de jamón, empanadas or papas rellenas (potato balls stuffed with beef). Guests then move on to respectable ropa vieja (shredded beef in light tomato sauce with onions and peppers), beef tongue in Creole sauce, or garlicky shrimp. Whatever you order, expect fried plantains, white rice and black beans --- the holy trinity of Cuban cuisine. Desserts include flan or natilla (vanilla custard), paired with a cup of café Cubano or café con leche. The dining room is modern and comfortable, with vintage travel posters lining exposed brick walls.
