Fiesta Grill Restaurant Review:
A few miles outside of Carrboro, this modest eatery draws legions of Mexican food enthusiasts who don’t mind a drive for the real thing. The sometimes long wait for a table and the minimal décor do not deter its many devoted patrons. Start with sangría or a beer or seasonal agua fresca along with frijoles with chorizo dip or the generous Fiesta Grill plate, a sampler of taquitos, flautas, nachos and quesadilla, served with house-made guacamole. Then choose between catfish with garlic sauce or carne asada (grilled skirt steak, onions and avocado), chile verde (diced pork in a green chili sauce), chicken with a spicy mole sauce, or the caldo siete mares (spicy seafood soup). For dessert, we suggest fried ice cream with chocolate sauce or classic flan. Friendly service is as satisfying as the food.
