Hankook Taqueria Restaurant Review:

Patrons from neighboring businesses flock to this simple operation, although it's not appropriate for sealing a business deal or impressing an important client. But if the office gang wants a good, cheap lunch, try this no-frills eatery. Chef Tomas Lee has led the trend toward marrying Korean and Mexican fare, even launching a local mini-chain called Takorea purveying similar fare. We recommend the tacos filled with bulgogi marinated in Korean barbecue sauce, and Saeng Seon, panko-crusted tilapia with a most intriguing taco hoisin tartar sauce. The same tartar sauce daubs the crispy shrimp. All come topped with chopped romaine lettuce and other greens, creating a two-handed if slightly messy meal. Burritos contain the same material. And there is snack-type fare, such as sliders filled with pulled pork in a Korean barbecue sauce, a quesadilla with bulgogi and roasted onion under melted Jack cheese, and tempura-fried Korean sweet potatoes. Neither desserts nor alcohol fit into this concept. Get there early, as after 11:30 a.m. the long lines start to form.
