Hank's Fine Steaks & Martinis Restaurant Review:

This whimsical oxymoron --- a smoke-free steakhouse named for a cigar-smoking vegetarian --- is a fitting tribute to the memory of a Las Vegas icon, Hank Greenspun. Elegant amenities include crystal chandeliers, custom-made glass wine cabinets, a spacious inner-lit translucent onyx bar-top, and a marble bar-top around a grand piano. For starters, we like the lobster chowder with potato, bacon and corn, and the kale salad with roasted grapes, honey pecans, Gorgonzola and berry vinaigrette. Among hand-cut, corn-fed, 28-day-aged, mesquite-broiled USDA Prime steaks are Châteaubriand for two, an 11-ounce filet mignon, 22-ounce bone-in rib-eye, and a 42-ounce T-bone for two. Seafood lovers may choose Atlantic salmon, Dover sole, halibut, big eye tuna, Norwegian king crab or a 12- or 28-ounce Australian lobster tail. Other entrée choices include Mary's organic herb-marinated rotisserie chicken and buttermilk fried chicken breast. Among sides are grilled tomatoes with spinach and cheese, tater tots with house-made dill ketchup, and red wine-braised crimini mushrooms with shallots and fresh herbs. The kid in us likes Hank's signature dessert: soft white chocolate cheesecake s’mores; the adult in us goes for the martini selections (30 in all) including Hank's dirty martini blending Grey Goose, dry vermouth, olive juice and olives. Live entertainment take place in the chic lounge Tuesday through Saturday.
