House of India Restaurant Review:
House of India, located in an inner suburb, has a subdued décor that gives no hint of its flavorful food or its popularity. Among menu favorites is the onion bhajia --- think sliced onions cloaked in a dense but tender batter and then fried. Pair kebabs with breads like naan and roti; lamb lovers will enjoy the biryani, although the meat comes in four other preparations as well. There are many good vegetarian dishes, too, both appetizers and main courses. The wine list lacks the spicy, off-dry whites that go so well with this food, leaving Indian beer as the beverage of choice.
