Koi Restaurant Review:

One of the sexiest Japanese restaurants on the Strip, Koi is hidden on the mezzanine level of Planet Hollywood, a nice oasis from the casino below. Giant carved Indonesian doors give way to three gilded Buddhas that were hand-crafted in Thailand, and prayer wheels that guide you past the lounge and into the dining room. Asian-inspired, yet modern design elements surround guests in the rounded, flowing room, from giant bamboo plants to curved lattices along the ceilings and walls. Sushi and maki are impressive, but Koi's strengths are even more evident in its signature dishes. Starters such as nutty, crispy rice topped with spicy tuna, and fresh salmon carpaccio with black truffles and savory ponzu demonstrate the freshness and quality of the seafood. From the warm side, we recommend the peppercorn filet mignon toban-yaki with shishito potato mash, as well as miso-bronzed black cod. End the meal on a sweet note with the coconut rice pudding crème brûlée, a delightful take on the ubiquitous dessert. Koi's extensive selection of saké and creative cocktails can be enjoyed in the lounge with a view of the Bellagio fountains.
