Mylos Restaurant Review:

Located in the ChateauBleau Hotel, this eatery is far from downtown Coral Gables---or any neighborhood with notable restaurants within walking distance. But its mostly Greek menu makes it a pleasant surprise for hotel guests who want the convenience of eating without driving. Reliably tasty starters are an appealingly thick tzatziki (yogurt with cucumber, garlic and fresh dill) and tangy taramasalata (confusingly called "red fish spread" on the menu; it's actually an emulsified whipped dip of cod fish roe, olive oil and lemon, sort of like caviar mayo). Avoid the "traditional” Greek salad, based on iceberg lettuce; it's the Greek Village salad---a chunky mix of tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, olives and more---that is actually the classic. As for entrées, fish is often overcooked dry as is leg of lamb with bland "Athenian" roast potatoes. Meat 'n' potatoes lovers will fare best with moussaka (layered ground beef, potatoes, eggplant and creamy béchamel). The hot entrée dolmades, stuffed with ground beef and rice, are also appealing.
