What a pleasant dining room this is with its mustard-yellow walls, original art by owner Paul Meyer, and a view of the waterfront and the State House dome. Ambience alone puts O'Leary's in the winner's circle. But, thankfully, its beauty is more than skin deep. The focus is on seafood, including everything from skillfully updated renditions of standards --- think jumbo lump Maryland crab cakes with warm voodoo corn salsa and grilled asparagus, and crispy-fried Virginia oysters with pineapple, mango and jalapeño chutney --- to dishes like spicy ahi and zarzuela, a Catalonian shellfish stew. Add to this a well-chosen and annotated wine list, a goodly selection of wines by the glass, and professional service.
