Oystercatchers Restaurant Review:

Situated on the shores of Old Tampa Bay, just behind the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, Oystercatchers is about as upscale as a fish house can get. The dress is resort casual, the 35-acre setting in a nature preserve offers some of the area's best views of the bay, and the food is on target in terms of preparation and freshness. As the name implies, there are oysters on the menu year-round. One word of advice: don't make the mistake of ordering anything but seafood. While the steaks, pastas and poultry are perfectly fine, it's the seafood that rises above our expectations. And like that famous TV jingle, you can have it your way. Select your fish, whether it is grouper, salmon or snapper, then have it prepared one of five different ways: blackened, poached, mesquite-grilled, to name a few. Top it off with the seasonal sauce of your choice, such as the mango chutney. If mosquitoes are at bay, dine outside on the outdoor patio or deck, and try to plan your visit around sunset when the pinks, purples and oranges of the Florida sun melt into the Bay's shimmering water.
