Papito Organic Mexican Cuisine Restaurant Review:

Portrero Hill isn't known for its tacos. Though it's mere steps from the Mission (where the streets are lined with taquerias), the neighborhood mainly boasts cute coffee shops, sushi, Italian and French fare. But variety is the spice of life, which is why we were happy to discover Papito. The restaurant, a sister to Chez Papa, Chez Papa Resto and Chez Maman, breaks the Euro mode by dishing up Mexican cuisine built from organic goods. Antojitos and platos fuertes, as well as tacos, burritos and quesadillas, taste almost healthy---fresh and flavorful, not laden with cheese or greasy meats. But don't worry, your Mexican cravings will be satisfied. Warm chips are delivered with a cluster of salsas. Traditional tacos are made modern by the addition of rich duck confit. Grilled pineapple adds sweet-tart flavor to marinated pork shoulder. Getting fried chicken in a burrito seems antithetical, but it turns out the meat is only lightly breaded then stuffed into a wrapping of beans, rice, cheese, avocado and cream. It may not be entirely healthy, but boy does it taste good piled with extra salsa.
