Providence Coal Fired Pizza Restaurant Review:

The successful Downcity Providence eatery opened this second outpost in North Kingstown, with a nearly identical menu and prices. If you don't feel like dropping a Hamilton on a martini, start with a draft beer: Harpoon for $5 is a good deal. We enjoy the coal-fired wings, topped with sea salt, rosemary and roasted onions, as a starter --- a smart twist on an appetizer standard. The atmosphere is bright and friendly with a big square bar and open kitchen, where you can sit and watch your meal being made in the 900-degree, coal-fired oven. Like a good New York-style pizza, the high heat produces a thin but fluffy crust with a hint of char on the outside; unlike a good New York pizzeria, the $15 you pay for the cheapest pie on the menu doesn't get you a big, round pizza but rather a middling oval. If you're not in the mood for pizza come dinnertime, you're a bit out of luck: sandwiches are only offered at lunchtime, and other than that, it's pretty much appetizers and salads. That said, you have a choice of more than a dozen pizza toppings. Butterscotch pudding is the most unusual of the desserts, and while this strikes us as more of a pizza-and-beer place, there's a pleasingly long wine list, too.
