Qi Restaurant Review:

This pan-Asian eatery looks a bit out of place on this slightly rundown stretch of West 14th Street. Amidst the miasma of shabby fast food establishments, Qi is an oasis straight out of SoHo or the pages of Wallpaper magazine. The long sleek tables, misshapen stools, and high ceilings scream high design. The fare from the kitchen is just as appetizing, thanks in part to a menu of diverse choices not always found at Asian restaurants in New York. Salmon in turmeric curry cream is an exercise in subtle tastes. The cinnamon-accented beef stew is a hearty option on a cold evening. Other menu highlights include chicken pumpkin curry, sesame-encrusted salmon, and the various South Indian dosas on offer.
