The Raccoon Lodge Restaurant Review:

Art Larrance, one of the original founders of Portland Brewing Company, originally intended to put hotel rooms on the third floor of this building. That never came to pass, but this fun, unusual "lodge" is still worth visiting. Eclectic, rustic décor includes wooden booths, Pendleton blanket-upholstered seats, a working fireplace, and a stuffed elk head on the wall. In-house Cascade Brewing specializes in "sour beers," which get their flavor from yeast and barrel aging instead of hops. While Mom and Dad are sampling the microbrews, the kids can choose from a fairly extensive children’s menu (and they eat free on Monday nights). Everyone will enjoy the fries served in a wide variety --- battered, sweet potato, tater tots --- with dipping sauces. The rest of the menu is fairly standard: salads, burgers, sandwiches, and fish ‘n’ chips. In summertime, the outdoor patio and garden provide a lively dinner venue for all ages.
