Ristorante Limoncello Restaurant Review:

Ristorante Limoncello is a rags to riches sort of story for owner Maurizio Badolato. The Italy native moved to Boston more than 25 years ago and got his start as a busboy, and later worked his way up to become a server at another North End restaurant. One night after a long shift, he purchased a stack of scratch tickets and was lucky enough to scratch off $1 million. It was then he knew he wanted open his own restaurant. Tucked away on a side street, the bright space features a beautiful mural on the main wall. As for the food, start with a sampling of tender beef carpaccio or sea scallops sautéed in a homemade limoncello sauce. Mediterranean lasagna is generously layered with ground beef and peas in a tangy tomato cream sauce. We also recommend the enormous grilled veal chop with mushrooms and black truffles. There’s a nice selection of Italian wines (beer and wine only are available here) that go well with any of the hearty pastas. Finish with the limoncello for a true taste of Italy.
