But even with menu items like a colossal seafood tower, don’t mistake this prime Hennepin Avenue destination as just another bigger-is-better steakhouse. Sleek service, subtle preparations and a touch of glamour set it apart from the predictable. While the classics are as dolled up as the clientele, this is a case where appearances fortunately deliver. We like the signature filet mignon, as well as the crab cakes. And while the seafood dishes nearly rival the steaks, we also suggest the house-made pastas. We like the elegant balance this place strikes between its grand statements --- the meat cart, the swanky décor --- and its intimate gestures, like the effortlessly charming servers who shake martinis tableside. Ask for a seat by the fireplace in winter. Then, while sipping a glass of Cab, ponder the age-old question: surf or turf? The answer will ring true either way.
