Spoon House Restaurant Review:

East-West yin yang shows up on the menu of this Japanese import, where spaghetti comes anointed with Japanese and American ingredients, sometimes on the same plate. Traditional options include bolognese with meatballs, clam sauce or garlic and basil, but one will also find toppings like corned beef and cabbage, crab meat and avocado, and mushroom with daikon. The Japanese influence is obvious in butter-sauced spaghetti noodles tossed with cod roe, sea urchin, squid or oyster mushrooms. Additional ingredients like plum, Japanese herbs and natto (fermented soy beans) can be added. Non-spaghetti options include seafood porridge, a bacon and spaghetti omelet, and seafood gratin. Regardless of what you order, the $1 salad --- iceberg and tomato topped with tangy miso paste --- is well worth it.
