Tara Asia Restaurant Review:

Nick Srisawat of Tara Thai fame takes a different approach to Asian cooking at his Tara Asia, which proposes a Pan-Asian menu that touches on various Asian cuisines, though most of the dishes are really Thai. For best effect, try a mix-and-match meal, starting with the Chinese shu mai dumplings studded with sprinkles of caviar, or the slender Vietnamese spring rolls and their somewhat sweet dipping sauce. We like the clever sarong shrimp appetizers encased in crispy noodles and the delicate Thai hoi jaw dumplings with their tofu skin. Main courses include noodle and rice platters and bowls, but you may want to look at the crispy catfish tossed with chilies and Thai basil. A limited number of Asian-inspired desserts are available, such as fried banana and fresh mango and sticky rice.
