This narrow storefront jam-packs loyal patrons like anchovies, many of them convinced this is the best place for traditional pizza in Pasadena. Simple antipasto includes roast peppers and sausage, mussels marinara, or salami with cheese, tomatoes and olive oil. For pizza, guests can choose from classic toppings like sausage, mushrooms and pepperoni, or a menu with specialty combinations such as Tucci’s special: shrimp, garlic, tomatoes and basil. The buttery garlic rolls are well known, and the simple but satisfying pastas are nearly as popular as the pizza, highlighted by the baked ziti. The best non-pizza item might be the stromboli --- pizza dough rolled with cheese, capicola, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, sausage and sauce. Panini and chicken dishes are also on offer. For dessert, order Tucci’s calzone, filled with hot fudge and walnuts, topped with ice cream and hot fudge. It's important to note, Tarantino's is cash only.
