A Tavola Restaurant Review:

Just off the beaten restaurant path in Ukrainian Village, you’ll find the ivy-covered entrance to A Tavola, chef Daniel Bocik’s Italian trattoria. Take a seat on the enclosed terrace or in one of the two dining rooms. While the restaurant is known for its gnocchi, other handmade pastas include tagliatelle with rotating pairings and tonnarelli cacao e pepe, a classic Roman dish with thick, spaghetti-like noodles tossed with Parmesan and black pepper. Carnivores will appreciate the saltimbocca: bone-in veal chop browned in EVOO and sage and wrapped in prosciutto. Can’t stay for dinner? Order a gnocchi to-go serving two people for $12. Or, come back for one of the Monday night cooking classes where you’ll cook and enjoy an appetizer, pasta, entrée and dessert.
