Tee-Eva's Old Fashion Pies & Pralines Restaurant Review:

Aunt Eva, or Tee-Eva as she is known locally, is as much of a draw here as her pralines. Operating in one location or another in New Orleans for many years, Tee-Eva’s primarily markets and sells authentic Southern pralines. Snowballs and flaky miniature pies, including pecan, sweet potato and cream cheese pecan, are the walk-up stand’s other best-known items. That’s not to say you can’t order a Creole-style meal, but your best bets are the sweet selections. The exception would be Aunt Eva’s gumbo, which defines what real Louisiana gumbo should be. When the line’s not too long, lucky customers get a few stories from the charming Tee-Eva herself as a lagniappe. The place is open during daylight hours but customers order pies and pralines by phone around the clock.
