Tortilla Republic Restaurant Review:
A Kauai original, this contemporary Mexican restaurant has since expanded to the mainland with a couple Southern California locations (West Hollywood and Laguna Beach). This branch at The Shops at Kukuiula presents two concepts: on the ground level, the TR Taqueria & Margarita Bar serves tacos, burritos, burgers, salads, appetizers and a weekend brunch, while the upstairs, the Tortilla Republic Grill, turns out hearty dinners and à la carte items. The chile relleno, fajitas and seared scallops are especially good. A full bar on both levels ensures everyone finds their favorite beverage.
