Treebeards Restaurant Review:

It's been more than three decades since Treebeards dished out the first bowl of its signature red beans and rice, yet loyalty to this downtown restaurant shows no signs of abating. As with its other locations, Cajun comfort food is the order of the day here in the social hall of Christ Church Cathedral, with the aforementioned red beans and rice (with or without a link sausage), gumbo and jambalaya. The dessert of choice is the crusty, hyper-sweet butter cake, which comes wrapped in plastic --- as if to facilitate taking it back to the office. Daily specials include comfort foods like Wednesday’s chicken-fried chicken with creamy gravy, or the old-fashioned meatloaf. Other locations.
