Although located in a big city, Varsity Inn Restaurant screams small-town diner. Ideal for breakfast, the blueberry pancakes are served with real maple syrup. Other morning favorites include Southern-style biscuits ‘n’ gravy, authentic hash browns, and all types of eggs cooked to order. The hearty Hobo omelet features cheddar, tomato, onions and mushrooms. Lunchtime fare highlights soups and sandwiches---the homemade cream of tomato soup and chicken and dumplings sell-out daily. Another popular sandwich option is the Monte Cristo, made with deli-thick slices of ham, turkey and Swiss cheese. Service is smiling and friendly.
