Vignola Restaurant Review:

The cuisine of the chef's favorite Italian town, Vignola, is prepared with local ingredients to create a menu that runs from rustic to elegant. Serving until 10 p.m. on weekends, this is also one of the best places in the city to get a drink and a snack with friends. A nice selection of small plates includes beef meatballs with crispy polenta and pecorino romano. In addition, the menu ranges from pizzas and salads to generous entrées, like seared Maine scallop, clams, mussels, monkfish, new potatoes and fennel in a spicy tomato brodo, and stracciatella gnocchi with Alto Adige ham, baby carrots, asparagus, celeriac and cipollini onion. End with the warm double-chocolate bread pudding or a selection of cheeses. Expect a first-rate wine list and a beer lineup filled with locally crafted brews. The restaurant has a striking interior: wine-bottle chandeliers hang from the lofty ceiling and you can people-watch through the large windows.
