Vincent's Italian Cuisine Restaurant Review:
Despite the plethora of Italian restaurants in Metairie, Vincent’s is a standout. Super-thick tomato sauces, recognizable pasta shapes and straw-wrapped Chianti bottles define this old-school place. Founded in 1989, the family-run, family-friendly suburban establishment aspires to send every guest home happy. Specialties include chowder-like corn-and-crab bisque served in a bread bowl, house-made cannelloni stuffed with veal and spinach, and dark-red tomato “gravy” (as New Orleanians call tomato sauce) saturated with garlic. If you want to know what authentic Italian lasagna is supposed to look and taste like, Vincent’s has the answer. The wine list is respectable, with a number of bottles coming in at under $30. Good luck trying to decide between the cannoli and gelati for dessert. Maybe both? The dining rooms are elegant, well-appointed and softly lit.
