This warm, homey café boasts a broad, leafy yard as well as a large communal table and pillow-lined windows indoors. Regulars come for coffee and waffles in the morning (all pastries are baked in-house) and often return for seasonal fare at lunch and dinnertime, when the menu features local and regionally sourced ingredients. Breakfast favorites include a Brie and apple panino or caramelized banana brioche french toast. Lunch choices may include a seasonal potpie, eggplant gratin, a selection of fresh and interesting salads, and classic down-home sandwiches such as pulled pork. At dinner, the menu ranges from pizza to braised lamb shank and English pea risotto. Unpretentious monthly wine dinners spotlight a local winemaker and give the chef an opportunity to serve a multi-course meal. Desserts include cookies, cakes and tarts.
