Vyne Wine Bar & Restaurant Restaurant Review:
This Greenwich Village wine bar’s goal is to take the vainglory out of vino. Given its flashy, chic interior, you’d never know it. Service, though, is friendly and unpretentious and waitstaff are happy to help imbibers wade through a menu that leans toward Austria, with a great selection of whites. The food menu is relatively straightforward. Cheese and charcuterie and bacon-topped crostini make for good starters to soak up the fermented grape juice. Even better are the flat pizzas (the garlicky New Zealand cockles pie is tops). Small plates make an appearance as well: the onion-topped spätzle, glorified mac ‘n’ cheese, is crunch-and-cheesy satisfying enough and moist chicken schnitzel is bolstered with a side of tangy cucumber salad.
