White House Restaurant Restaurant Review:

With its no-frills interior and black-and-white linoleum floors, The White House is a page out of the American diner tradition. Founded by a Greek immigrant, the place has been serving Buckhead since 1948. Southern breakfasts start the day with good biscuits, eggs, grits, hot cakes and maybe a pork chop or two, and sausage or country ham on the side. Fluffy biscuits with chicken and gravy are among the most popular breakfast items, but we prefer the more traditional sausage gravy. You’re likely to find the place packed on weekends for breakfast with families and kids in tow. Lunch specials are served from a steam table, but also look for made-to-order sandwiches, including burgers and gyros, and salads. Come for the Greek specialties such as roasted chicken and moussaka; they’re right up there with homemade chicken and dumplings and fried chicken. Cobblers (also in the steam table) are the dessert of choice. This is a rare spot in fancy Buckhead for down-home cooking. No alcohol.
