The Whitney Restaurant Review:

The Whitney has four main dining rooms on the first floor, including one decorated primarily in pink, as well as outdoor seating on a brick paver patio in the side yard. Entrées include roasted swordfish, grilled baby lamb chops, filet mignon and Traverse City cherry pork tenderloin. On weekends, cap off dinner with dessert, jazz and blues at Ghost Bar, located on the third floor. Check out the third-floor Whitney Dessert Parlor for sweets and spirits. The list includes a classic carrot cake, a Whitney tradition for more than three decades, as well as signature flaming desserts for two, such as the traditional bananas Foster and Strawberries Sir Whitney in a Grand Marnier flambé. Like the desserts so much you want more for later? The bakery offers a nice to-go selection for at-home indulgence. Be sure to check out the Whitney Collection, the restaurant's vast wine list filled with labels from around the globe and those sourced much closer to home, including some from Michigan's best wineries, and many at reasonable price points. There's a fine array of by-the-glass offerings in all categories, too. Diners may tour the 1890s mansion, with its finishes of onyx, marble, elaborately hand-carved woodwork and original Tiffany windows.
